All the puppies were adopted and taken home on Christmas Eve... Except Poppy who was reserved for a lady in Alaska to pick up on Jan 20th. On Dec 20th Poppy got bit by a spider and her whole paw got infected to where she wouldn't eat or drink on her own. I would feed her every 1&1/2 hours as much as she would take and Karo syrup to keep her sugars up. We took her to a vet on the 21st and he said to just keep watching her temp and feeding her. Then on the 24th she got worse again after her paw popped open and temp went down. So we took her to the ER and they got her an antibiotic and pain med. She lost her toe nail that night and their not sure it will grow back.
All the other puppies were so excited to go home with their new families. And all of the families were so excited for their new family member. Now we just have to decide if we are going to do this again or not. It was a fun adventure but so much work to raise them in the house. At 4 weeks I started taking them outside to go potty every 1&1/2 hours just like newborn but LOTS of them. Love those puppies hope they make good adult dogs someday. This is right before they all started going home... We will miss these cuties!

Puppies 5 weeks old!
So the puppies are growing so fast. I knew they would and I guess I am just thankful they are mini's so they are half the size they would have been. They all just received their 2nd deworming and shots will be this weekend. Matia is so not excited for that day. They are all very active and running although they fall on their face a lot. Poppy has learned how to climb out of the pen so we are going to have to fix that. She is a little smartie pants.

Puppies 4 weeks old
The puppies had another big week as their ears opened and they were able to hear themselves bark and the sounds of the house. They are still waking up during the night for potty breaks and feedings. This week I took them to the vet (which was quite the chore) and they all are doing FABULOUS! All very healthy with no concerns at all. We are keeping one lucky puppy and busy trying to find adoptive families for all the others. We have 3 families committed and excited to add our sweet puppy to their families on Christmas. So 5 more homes we hope to find. We also took the puppies out into the snow for the first time. They were not to sure what to think about that but they all got used to it and started to explore like they do. They also had their second bath, trying to get used to that whole idea as well.

Puppies 3 weeks and Winter riding begins
Dec 4th - This week has been a busy week for the puppies. They started eating soaked puppy food and going potty on the newspaper and all of their eyes are opened. So they are seeing the world in a whole new experience! They are still very stumbly as they walk but they are getting better everyday. They are starting to show some personality but still sleep a lot. Love our puppies.
This week we also started winter riding lessons. It has been a super cold week so gloves, hats, thermals and jackets were all very necessary for us to have a good time. We have 12 students enrolled for winter lessons with 5 brand new riders. This should be a good session.
